 Tammy Truitt Originally from Iowa, Tammy Truitt started performing with her family in a traveling church group when she was a toddler. At the age of ten, she went "pro" when she was cast in the role of "Annie" in a regional theater production of ANNIE. By the age of twelve she had portrayed that role over 150 times in three different productions. By the time she graduated high school she had performed in twenty different shows and productions. In 1994, Tammy won the title of Miss Iowa and was fortunate enough to travel to Atlantic City to compete in the Miss America Pageant where she shared the stage with Regis & Kathy, Kenny Rogers, and 49 beautiful and talented women from around the country. Although she didn't win, she was one of the few contestants who were lucky enough to be interviewed by Andy Richter in Atlantic City and she appeared in a vignette on Conan O'Brien! With the scholarship money that Tammy won from the pageant, she went to the University of Iowa and earned a B.A. in Communications, graduating with high distinction. After college, Tammy went back into theater and was offered a role here in the Fort Myers area. It didn't take long for her to know that she wanted to be here full-time. Tammy Truitt has now lived in Southwest Florida since the year 2000 and loves the atmosphere and opportunities for live music. In 2001 Tammy started her own business, running karaoke and is known as the "Karaoke Chick" around the Fort Myers Beach area. She was voted "Best Female Entertainment of 2007" in the Beach Bulletin's "Best of the Beach." In the fall of 2009, Tammy branched out from karaoke, singing in her own solo act and performing as the "T" in the group, "T.C.B.," with whom she has been "Takin' Care of Business" ever since. She'd like to say thank you to all the extraordinary people who come to see T.C.B. sing and play around the area.
